Coca-Cola Generates Profit by Unethical Practices
Coca-Cola is a well-known company and the most successful beverage business in the world and it has expanded its operations to include markets across the globe. There are so many people addicted to use Coca-Cola every day. Due to its immense appeal, the general public is unaware of Coca-unethical Cola's business practices. Since the 1990s, Coca-Cola has been suspected of unethical activity in a variety of areas, including quality assurance, anti-competitive activity, dealer connections, federal employee harassment, pollution, depletion of natural resources, and health problems. A number of these concerns have been settled by the corporation, some via private settlements both through judicial fights, while others remain unsolved. While Coca-handling Colas of several ethical issues has not always been praised, the company has often responded by seeking to tighten its supervision and compliance standards.
However, it
has to be seen if the firm can continue to rise above its ethical problems
permanently, learn from its mistakes, implement necessary changes, and avoid
future challenges while being an industry leader of beverages. Since its start,
the company has employed considerable amounts of drugs to create a
one-of-a-kind formula and drink that contains cocaine of 60 mg extracted from
the leaves of the coco palm tree. Even though cocaine damages the body,
companies employ it in conjunction with their goods to induce addiction to the
product in question. This was a heinous crime and unethical behavior on the part
of the firm, and legal action was taken against them. Coca-Cola was ordered to
stop using cocaine but instead chose to utilize caffeine, which is an addictive
chemical, as a temporary alternative.
The business was also charged for engaging in
misleading labeling tactics, which was in addition to the other claims. Due to
fake information about the drink that was added by the corporation, purchasers
were misled. Coca-Cola is involved in yet another unethical commercial practice
in this area. The Coca-Cola Company claims that individuals who do not
comprehend their mistakes are bound to repeat them in the future. In the
context of the company, I believe that this is the truth to be told. It is the
same as breaking your customers' trust when you intentionally mislead them
based on the erroneous information you provide.
For example, Coca-Cola has established various scholarship programs for high-school
graduates as they prepare to enter college and the workforce.
This is a huge transaction for Coca-Cola and, in my
opinion, for the whole business community. In order to engage a customer with
their emotions, which are the most powerful purchasing consideration that
consumers can act on, you must first engage them with their emotions. The fact
that a corporation is active in community-based initiatives for children
increases the likelihood of people supporting and purchasing its products.
Due to the main aim of profit, the corporation has
abandoned its social duties and is behaving unethically. The bottling plant
employees, who are the most vulnerable part of the story, are subjected to a
very insufficient and unsafe working environment, as well as receiving
extremely poor wages. Despite the fact that it has an impact on not just the
people who drink Coca-Cola, but also the people who work for the company, I
feel the Coca-Cola Corporation is being too narrow in its outlook on issues
that are not directly related to the business. In my opinion, the Coca-Cola
company is destroying people's trust by presenting them with false information
and feeding them with drug-addicting ingredients. I am hopeful that the company
will take corrective measures as a result of the current issue.
